Gaspé-Forillon Whale watching cruise

Adult(s): $82.00 per ticket
Students(s) (with card): $77.00 per ticket
Child (4 à 15 ans): $49.00 per ticket

Zodiac safari service for the observation of whales, seals, cliffs, sea birds, comfortably seated aboard a twelve-seater zodiac, accompanied by a captain-guide-interpreter.

The experience, lasting approximately three hours, will allow participants to discover the wonders offered by the Forillon peninsula and its marine environment, from the point of view of the sea.

The cetacean observation objective will take us to the waters of the Banc-des-Américains marine protected area. Here several species of mysticetes (baleen whales) and odondocetes (toothed whales) coexist. The compilation of our observation data allows the scientific community to draw an accurate picture of the frequentation of these giants in the area.

Beyond the search for whales, the zodiac safari is also:

Cap Gaspé, the “Le Vieux” rock and the end of the point are exceptional products for our regional, national and international customers. These geological formations reflecting events of gigantic magnitude are inaccessible by sea kayaking for inexperienced paddlers. The zodiac therefore becomes a suitable means of transport to discover these wonders of nature.

Seals are also part of this easily observable fauna. Harbor seals arrive around the end of April in time for whelping which usually occurs before mid-June. The “puppies” are born on land on many large, flat rocks along the coast. Gray seals, whose head profile resembles that of a horse, arrive in June after giving birth to their young in late winter on an ice floe or distant shore.

The omnipresence of thousands of seabirds and the frenetic activity of all these species in the coastal landscapes of Forillon will dazzle you.

On the program, there will be, among other things, distribution of equipment, clothing, safety instructions, observation of pinnipeds, eco-interpretation on marine mammals, sea birds, geology, reading the landscape, history, navigation , winds, currents, tides, etc
