Entry Island, Land and Sea trip

Paddling around this enigmatic island on a sea kayak. Then, hike these green hills sometimes abrupt, sometimes rounded but still offering breathtaking landscapes. Ideal expedition to live the end of the Islands!

Departure from the Grindstone (Cap-aux-Meules) harbour on board the Ivan Quinn ferry. Arrival on the Entry Island, the group will prepare to paddle around the island. You will be initiated to the cliffs and the birds on a sea view. After lunch, you will hike the hills, more beautiful than others, while savouring those landscapes features.

General information :

  • Intermediate to advanced paddlers with good physical condition and 16 years old and over
  • Duration : 10h including 2h30 in sea kayaking and 3h in hiking
  • This adventure requires almost perfect weather conditions. The guide will notify customers the day before to confirm the trip.

Route description :

  • Meeting at Parc de Gros-Cap at 6:30 AM to distribute the equipment
  • Departure from Grindstone at 7:30 AM (Cap-aux-Meules) with the Ivan Quinn ferry
  • Launching at the Entry Island harbour and paddling around the island
  • Back at the harbour for lunch time
  • Hiking on the island and climb of the Big Hill
  • Back at the harbour for the departure at 4:30 PM in direction of Grindstone (Cap-aux-Meules)
  • Arrival in Grindstone at 5:30 PM

*PN: Cliffs are made with red sandstone, a rock extremely friable which can easily fall from the rock wall. It is by security concerns of our customers, in agreement with the AEQ demands of which we are member, that we are not going in closed caves in ours guided tours. Red sandstone fragments can fall at any time and that’s why we take this initiative. Thank you of your understanding.
