Information

Named in honour of a climbing enthusiast gone too soon, this small rustic log cabin is located on the lakeside of the Lac-à-l'Écluse and right in front of the Cadot trail. The departure of the other trails are around 500 meters down the Zec road.

During the summer, the cabin is accessible on the road of the Zec. In the winter, there is around a 3,5 km trek on skis or snowshoes from the parking lot of the Zec since the road is closed to vehicles in the winter time.

Please note: You must pass by our office (135 rang St-François, KM 10.6 on route 381) and not the Zec's to pick up the keys.

The Zec charges an access fee per vehicle to use the road leading to the Lac-à-l’Écluse where the Caribou, Taïga and J-P Cadot cabins are located.

We encourage you to pay the fees online (max 2 days in advance) directly on the Zec website.

Exterior fires are strictly prohibited.

Please note: This cabin is not well insulated and can be difficult to keep warm during colder temperatures, especially with the winds from the lake. If you much prefer your heat, it is probably best to book another cabin during the colder periods (January - February). Note that no reimbursements can be made for this lack of insulation. It is simply a badly insulated and cold cabin in the winter. We thought it best for you to know;)

IMPORTANT :

There is no running water in our cabins, but they are all located near a source of water: lacs, rivers, small streams. We highly recommend treating the water, either with filters or purification tablets, or by boiling it for at least 10 mintues.

Each group must bring:

Your own wash cloths, sponges, toilet paper, lighters or matches, fire starter or newspaper, sleeping bag.

You must also pack out all your garbage.
