You've made a resolution to move more, enjoy the outdoors and meet new people this year? The Parc du Massif du Sud is launching its Winter Hiking Club! Accompanied by Francis Drouin, an avid runner and outdoor enthusiast, set off to discover snow-covered landscapes and breathtaking vistas, while sharing convivial moments with other nature lovers.

 

Saturday, January 25 - 9 a.m. | Mont Chocolat trail
Length: 8.2 km - Elevation gain: 380 m - Duration: Between 3 h and 3 h 30
This trail has it all: a riverside section, magnificent maple groves and a summit offering two beautiful panoramas: one at the belvedere and the other at the summit, just a few meters away. Add an extra challenge with the more technical return variant, to discover the beauty of winter landscapes.

 

Sunday, February 23 - 9h | Crête des Grives trail
Length: 11.1 km - Vertical rise: 449 m - Duration: Between 4 h and 5 h

This technical 11.1 km hike takes you to one of the park's three peaks and takes you through a variety of environments, from old-growth forest to magnificent waterways. You'll have the chance to admire one of the park's most spectacular views at its summit (828 meters). A trail for intermediate and experienced hikers. A real gem to discover!

 

Sunday, March 23 - 9h | Ravages trail
Length: 9.1 km - Elevation gain: 468 m - Duration: Between 3 h and 4 h

A trail for hikers looking for a good challenge with an elevation gain of 468 meters. This route offers a beautiful view of the Vallée du Milieu. As its name suggests, it takes you right up close to the moose's habitat, also known as ravage. If you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of these majestic animals.

 

Sunday, April 27 - 9 a.m. | Vieille Forêt trail 
Length: 4.9 km - Difference in altitude: 221 m - Duration: Between 1 h 30 and 2 h
Do you have a weakness for old-growth forests? This trail is for you! In the heart of the Ruisseau Beaudoin valley, this trail starts in the magnificent Bassin area, where you'll cross a bridge and admire a natural waterfall, before setting off to discover the old-growth forest and its huge yellow birches, over 300 years old!
