Reservation Policy


Full payment by credit card is required for all reservations, whether made by phone or online.


Cancellation or Modification of Reservation


Any cancellation must be made 14 days before the start date of your stay to receive a full refund. After this period, refunds will not be possible. A $15 administrative fee will be charged for all stay cancellations.


Once a reservation is confirmed, modifications are not possible.

For refunds related to COVID-19 symptoms, you must provide medical proof. Without medical proof, regular cancellation conditions apply (see above).

Reservation

Registration for any of our stays or activities and/or making a deposit automatically implies adherence to our general and specific terms of sale. Full payment by credit card is required for online or phone reservations.


For onsite purchases (wood, ice, etc.), credit or debit card payments are preferred. If you wish to pay in cash, please provide exact change.

Gift Cards

Gift cards of a specific value have no expiration date.


Insurance

Kiamika Regional Park is covered by liability insurance.


Prices

Prices are valid for the 2024 season, from May 10th to September 30th, 2024. Payment is in Canadian dollars.


Accommodations and Camping

Shelters and camping sites undergo continuous inspection. Any damage or deterioration caused will be reported to the client, who will be responsible for the costs.


Rules and Environment

Following the "Leave No Trace" - Outdoor Ethics principles, it is prohibited to remove or disturb any natural element. Similarly, it is forbidden to approach, disturb, or touch any wild animal.


Dogs are welcome in the Park but must be kept on a leash. However, they are not allowed in shelters. Dog owners must ensure their pet does not disturb other users at any time. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs and disposing of waste responsibly.

Responsibilities

Kiamika Regional Park is responsible for the smooth running of the stay or activity but cannot be held responsible for fortuitous events (bad weather conditions, unforeseen logistical problems...), force majeure events (strike, natural disaster...) or actions of third parties.


Kiamika Regional Park cannot be held responsible for any activities booked directly on-site and not paid to Kiamika Regional Park (at businesses operating within the Park).


Each participant acknowledges that engaging in activities offered by Kiamika Regional Park may involve certain risks that they personally assume, having judged their ability to participate in this sport by their registration. Therefore, they agree to waive any claims against Kiamika Regional Park, its officers, employees, agents, or representatives in the event of an incident, accident, or death, regardless of the cause. This also applies to emergency transportation of persons. If emergency evacuation is necessary due to injury, fatigue, or getting lost, charges for this evacuation will apply.


Kiamika Regional Park will not be liable for any thefts in shelters and camping sites.


Kiamika Regional Park will not be responsible for keys given to the client. In case of failure to return the keys at the end of the stay, the client must return them at their own expense, or fees will be applicable. Similarly, in case of lost keys, fees will apply.


When a client agrees to transfer their photos to the image bank (photo gallery on the website or Facebook page) of Kiamika Regional Park at the end of their stay, they agree that Kiamika Regional Park may use them for commercial purposes without compensation from Kiamika Regional Park.


Complaints

Despite the care taken in designing our services and activities, it may happen that observations on their smooth running are made. We invite you to submit them in writing, no later than ten days after your return, by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt. In the event of a dispute, only the courts of the province of Quebec are competent.


Risk Recognition and Acceptance Form


Inherent Risks of the Activity


I ACKNOWLEDGE having been informed of the inherent risks of activities at Kiamika Reservoir Regional Park.


Risks related to canoeing, kayaking, boating, hiking, and rustic camping include, but are not limited to:


Injuries from falls or other movements (sprains, strains, fractures, etc.);

Injuries from blunt or sharp objects (branches, rocks, equipment, etc.);

Cold or hypothermia;

Injuries resulting from accidental or non-accidental contact between individuals or with a vehicle, boat;

Food allergies;

Contact with water, thermal shock, or drowning;

Burns or heat-related disorders;

Weather-related risks: wind, lightning, rain showers;

Capsizing, submersion of the vessel;

Damage from contact with debris in the water (e.g., tree trunks) or natural obstacles (rocks at water level).

I AM AWARE that activities offered by Kiamika Reservoir Regional Park take place in semi-natural or natural environments that may be rugged, consequently further from medical services. This could result in long delays in an emergency requiring evacuation, and therefore, a possible worsening of my condition or injury.


Risk Acceptance


Having been made aware of these risks and having had the opportunity to discuss them with a responsible person for the activity,


I ACKNOWLEDGE having been informed of the inherent risks of the activities and am able to undertake the activity or stay with full knowledge and acceptance of the risks that may be involved.


I ACKNOWLEDGE that members of my group and I are responsible for our own safety. We advise you to inform a family member or friend of your departure and return date. In case of delay, this person should contact us so that we can inform the Quebec Safety Authority to initiate search procedures.


I ALSO COMMIT to taking an active role in managing these risks by adopting a preventive attitude towards myself and others around me.


The Kiamika Reservoir Development Corporation reserves the right to exclude any person it deems to represent a risk to themselves or other participants.


I UNDERSTAND that I can leave this activity for one reason or another.


Release of Material Responsibility


I, THE UNDERSIGNED, hereby waive any claim and any lawsuit for damages to my property and equipment (normal wear and tear, loss, breakage, theft, vandalism).


Authorization for Emergency Intervention


I, THE UNDERSIGNED, authorize the Kiamika Reservoir Development Corporation to provide all necessary first aid. I authorize the Kiamika Reservoir Development Corporation to make the decision in the event of an accident to transport me (by ambulance, helicopter, boat, coast guard, or otherwise) to a hospital or community health facility, all, if necessary, at my own expense.
